FOOTSTEPS INTO PALI DISTRICT,RAJASTHAN

RNA(R) Trust took its first footsteps into Pali District of Rajasthan. The maiden camp at Motilal Hospital , Lapod.

Lapod is a Village in Sumerpur Mandal , Pali District , Rajasthan State . Lapod is 15 kms from Rani station and is 41.5 km distance from its District Main City Pali . Other villages near by are Sumerpur , Balupura , Basant , Birami , and Chanod. Lapod has a PHC but eye health care hardly has made its reach into this village.

RNA Trust through Project Moksh provided the villagers to utilise the services of Sanjeevani Netralaya,Bangalore.

Dr.Rajesh Parekh, and his team got Refraction services with Cataract, cornea,Glaucoma and Retinal Examination to their door step.It was indeed a fruitful venture as eeach and every villager made his/her way to the Hospital founded by Late.Sri.Motilal Dhanrajji.Free glasses and eye medication were provided.

Indeed Lord Buddha's saying rings out "Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."

"If u can't give sight to a thousand people atleast give it to one"

As we complete another year,we look back at another successful year. Our recent camps at Yelhanka and Kavalbysandra,Bangalore were appreciated by many organizations including St.Anthony's church,R T Nagar..... Sacred heart church on General Thimmaiah Road and Open Door foundation. We continue in our small efforts......its these efforts that add up in the end....

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” – Mother Teresa

This inspires us to add  ...... that let us try to give sight by a few eye surgeries..if thousand free surgeries is not possible .

Working...progressing....vision for a better tomorrow.

We at Project Moksh, owe loads to the all those people who donated their old glasses during the Pajushan period inspite of the busy fasting period. The glasses were donated to 15 people at Old Bypanahalli. We also thank the staff at Ashwini Polyclinic who generated so much interest among the people around.
We continue working....progressing....and look to a vision for a better tomorrow.

Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.

RECYCLE GLASSES

Project Moksh now has a recycling campaign to provide eye care. This Pajushan(a Jain fasting and atonement season)we launched a donation which allowed to recycle old pairs of glasses for people in need.We also provided free eye care to the socially poor patients.

If you donate old glasses to RNA Trust(R),many people in India who suffer from poor vision can get an access to our eye care center. Poor, uncorrected vision can rob old adults of independence and quality of life.A well prescribed glasses can improve their quality of life. In some countries, a pair of eyewear costs more than a month’s salary.

Our volunteers have provided free eye-wear and vision care to many many people. In addition to our free surgeries, we again host an eye-glass donation at Sanjeevani Netralaya Eye Hospital. Those old glasses in the corner of your drawer can be recycled into a sight-changing gift for someone in need! To learn more about where to donate your old glasses, or to find resources to help you set up a drive to collect eyeglass donations spread this blogspot to other organizations that can help recycle used glasses.

GODS OWN CHILDREN..

Children who are physically and mentally challenged are God's own favourite children.
When I pause to think about this, I realize I have taken for granted the use of my legs,eyes,hearing.... I remember how much joy I get running my marathon.
This has led me to re-discover a part of me....the journey to discover oneself will continue and may take a life-time.

Dr.Bernice Johnson Reagon ,the American Scholar and Musician says "Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are."

Coloured Cosmetic Contact Lenses

Coloured contact lenses come in three kinds of tints: visibility tints, enhancement tints and opaque color tin
Under U.S. law you need a contact lens prescription. This is true even for plano lenses that don't have prescriptive power and are worn for cosmetic purposes only. This is because the cosmetic look may be desirable to some, the potential dangers and risks outweigh any fashionable benefit. According to the American Optometric Association Blog, the "improper use of contact lenses can cause corneal ulcers, corneal abrasions, visual impairment, and blindness."
Contact lenses need to be fit properly - always consult an eye care professional before considering or using any type of contact lenses.
